Eight Winds 2012
June 28th-July 1st
This year's Eight Winds Festival, the annual gathering of ADF's Northwest Region, will be held at Prosser Ranch group campground, in the Tahoe National Forest, located just outside the town of Truckee, CA. This event is for members of ADF, their guests and invitees.
Prosser Ranch Group Campground is located on the shores of Prosser Reservoir. Swimming and fishing can be enjoyed from the shore line of this group campground and many miles of ATV/OHV and hiking trails also surround the area. In a forest setting with pine and fir trees, this group campground will accommodate up to 50 people.
Accommodations
RV and Tent camping are available. A large tent for a kid's slumber party (with nightly supervision) will be provided. Hotels, Motels, B&Bs and cabin/cottage rentals are only 20 minutes away in Truckee. Your fee is for the festival, not for the camping, that's free. So there will be no discounts if you choose to take accomodations off-site.
The adopt-a-druid program is available with limited supplies of camping gear. If you are flying in or don't own camping gear please contact us, first come, first served.
Amenities
Prosser Ranch has a bathroom facility and there will also be shower facilities set up on site for the event. The site overlooks the reservoir and is located within sight of the boat launch so bring your boat or water toys. Hotel/motel accommodations are available in the town of Truckee about 15 minutes away.
Auction
We will be hosting an auction during this event. Proceeds will benefit next year's event.
Please email us if you have something you'd like to donate, your generous donation of goods is tax deductible.
Children's Activities
There will be plenty of activities for children of all ages. Sierra Madrone Grove, ADF will be providing a full schedule of activities for children including: games, crafts, hikes, and educational classes. Please pack clothes that can get paint, mud, and clay on them. Children are also invited to attend the all-night slumber parties in the big tent every evening. Adults who choose to allow their children to participate in slumber parties must sign up for the evening roster and take turns with supervision.
Directions, Travel, and Transportation
